3ZZZ – Ethnic Community Radio Melbourne, Slovenian Program

The first experimental programme of the newly established community radio station 3ZZZ took place in 1987, the second in 1988. The program came to be offered on Wednesdays from 7 to 8pm. At first there were alternating teams of radio programmers, including the younger members of Slovenian community. For many years the leader is Metka Lenarčič with a group of assistants.
It is a community supported radio station, based on member fees and annual drives for funding, including picnics, dances and radiothons. The Slovenian program brings Slovenian popular music, radio reports from Slovenia, Slovenian community news and announcements. Once a month there is a Slovenian youth program.
